The National Airports Corporation (NAC) has successfully completed its annual Safety Oversight Inspection at Port Moresby International Airport (PMIA), reinforcing its commitment to safe and secure aviation operations.

These inspections are carried out in accordance with the Civil Aviation Rule Part 139.93(c), ensuring all airport users comply with established safety requirements.

Bill Bouraga, NAC Safety Assurance Manager says the goal is simple- to ensure the highest safety standards at PMIA while meeting all Safety Management System requirements.

This year’s inspection covered operations from the General Aviation Area through to the Domestic Apron, ensuring a comprehensive review of airport activities.

The inspection highlighted commendable improvements in cleanliness across the General Aviation Area, while also identifying areas requiring immediate attention to maintain compliance.

NAC acknowledges the proactive efforts of its stakeholders and reaffirms its commitment to working together to uphold safety and security standards for all airport users.
