2nd Project Steering Committee Succesful

The National Airports Corporation (NAC) held its second Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting in Alotau, Milne Bay Province, on Friday, 20th of March 2026, for projects funded by the Government of Papua New Guinea (GoPNG), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The committee comprised representatives from the Department of National Planning and Monitoring, the Department of Treasury, Niu Sky Pacific Ltd, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA PNG), the PNG Accident Investigation Commission (AIC), the National Weather Service (NWS), and NAC. Other stakeholders who joined the committee included the technical officers from the Milne Bay Provincial Government and the Design Supervision Consultants. The PSC meeting was held purposely to provide progressive updates on the high-impact airport infrastructure projects under CADIP and JICA, which are funded by ADB and the Government of Japan. The meeting coincided with a project site visit and a tour of the current Gurney Airport Upgrade Project, which is funded by GoPNG and the ADB. The role of the PSC members is to provide oversight on policy and implementation guidance of all the projects implemented by NAC, which are funded by the Government of Papua New Guinea and development partners. #CADIPII #PSC #GURNEYAIRPORTUPGRADE
