The National Airports Corporation is advising the general public that Paid Parking Services at the Port Moresby International Airport (PMIA) Domestic Car Park, has been Temporarily Lifted for the duration of the 2020 Christmas Festive Period.
Recently, NAC also re-introduced 2 Minutes Drop Off Only at the Curbside (Terminal Front) to allow vehicles to quickly drop off passengers and exit. This initiative is among several others being undertaken to improve Landside Safety as well as Airport Services and Infrastructure at PMIA.
Other measures soon to be implemented at PMIA to manage vehicle movement, parking, safety and security will include;
- Opening of a Second Exit at the Domestic Paid Carpark with proper management of traffic and carpark spaces.
- Designated Parking Area with own Exit, for Airport Tenants and Staff, towards the South –Western end of the Domestic Carpark.
- Re-opening of the International Carpark with introduction of Paid Parking and proper management of parking spaces.
- Improved signage and way finding at the Airport Precinct
It is NAC’s mandated responsibility under the Civil Aviation Act 2000 as amended, to manage and operate safe and secure airports for all airport users.
